"The artists who applied to Dave Bown Projects capture the diversity and vibrancy of contemporary art today. Across the candidates, there was little evidence of any overarching trends; save, perhaps, that artists are still looking for ways to transform everyday experience or material into something new and worthy of discovery. Artists like Sarah Kabot and Allison Svoboda display a mastery of mundane materials, transforming paper, ink, and the act of collage into wildly different but similarly engaging studies of space and structure and organic form, respectively."
